Radon Mitigation

What Is Radon Mitigation?

Radon mitigation is a proven process that reduces radon gas levels inside a home.

If your radon test result is above the guideline set by Health Canada, installing a mitigation system can significantly lower indoor radon concentrations and help create a safer living environment.

Most homes can be fixed with a custom system designed for the property’s foundation, layout, and airflow.

How a Mitigation System Works

The most common solution is called sub-slab depressurization:

1️⃣ A 4.5" suction point is created through the basement floor
2️⃣ Approved piping routes radon gas safely up & out
3️⃣ A quiet  fan draws radon from beneath the home

This prevents radon from entering your living space.

Systems run continuously and require very little maintenance.

Do You Need Radon Mitigation?

You should consider mitigation if:

  • Your radon test result is above 200 Bq/m³

  • You’re buying or selling a home with elevated radon

  • You want to reduce long-term health risks

  • You prefer a permanent solution instead of temporary fixes

Not sure what your result means?
We’re happy to review it with you.

Our Mitigation Approach

Every home is different — so every system should be too.

Radon Central focuses on:

✔ Custom system design for your home

What to Expect on Installation Day

Most installations are completed in one day.

Here’s how it typically works:

  • System design confirmation

  • Floor suction point installation

  • Piping routed neatly through basement and exterior

  • System activation and walkthrough

We treat your home with care and leave the workspace clean.

How Much Does Mitigation Cost?

Costs vary depending on:

  • Foundation type

  • Home size and layout

  • Pipe routing complexity

  • Fan location

  • Finish requirements

The best way to get accurate pricing is a custom quote.
